What I do…

With a background in journalism and strategic communications, I specialize in public relations, content strategy, and digital storytelling. I’ve led social media and public information efforts across higher education, nonprofit, and tribal sectors—developing campaigns, managing press outreach, and mentoring teams to deliver clear, engaging messages that build trust and community connection.

I’m Quindrea Yazzie—most know me as Drea. I’m Diné (Navajo), Naakai, and originally from Steamboat, Arizona. I earned my bachelor’s in Journalism and Mass Communication from ASU and have always been passionate about using media to elevate Indigenous voices and make information more accessible. That passion took me into journalism, where I’ve proudly been part of the 0.36% of Native professionals in U.S. newsrooms.

My experience spans organizations like Indian Country Today, Mesa Community College, The Heard Museum, Navajo Nation Gaming Enterprise, and Arizona PBS—where I’ve worked in roles focused on public information, media production, and audience engagement.

I’m currently seeking new opportunities in public affairs, communications leadership, or public information—where I can use my voice and skills to make an impact.
